A remarkable story has emerged from this year’s Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. Sarahouda Stiti, a 130-year-old woman from Algeria, has been recognized as the oldest pilgrim to participate in the holy journey.
According to reports, Ms.Stiti was warmly welcomed upon her arrival in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. She reportedly made all necessary preparations before embarking on her pilgrimage, including entering the state of Ihram, a special spiritual state required for Hajj participants.
Saudi Airlines acknowledged the significance of Ms.Stiti’s journey, announcing her arrival as the Kingdom’s oldest pilgrim on their official social media account.
This year, Saudi Arabia expects to welcome approximately 1.5 million pilgrims to perform Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam. This number is anticipated to rise in the coming days.
