A heartbreaking incident in Thailand has raised serious concerns about workplace policies after a 30-year-old factory worker, known only as May, died following her manager’s refusal to grant her sick leave.

May had been battling an inflamed large intestine and had undergone treatment for several days. Despite presenting a medical certificate to justify her absence, her manager insisted she return to work, leading her to feel pressured to comply.

Tragically, just 20 minutes into her shift, May collapsed and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Medical staff performed emergency surgery, but, unfortunately, she passed away the following day.
