Earlier this week, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) fined Naseem Shah 10% of his match fees for wearing a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) helmet during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match. The incident occurred during a game between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators where Shah was playing for the latter.
Naseem Shah neglects PCB’s rules and regulations
According to PCB regulations, PSL players are only allowed to wear helmets that are pre-approved by the PCB. The BPL helmet that Shah wore was not authorized, which led to his being fined.
This incident highlights the importance of following the rules and regulations set by the governing bodies of the sport. While it may seem like a minor violation, wearing unauthorized gear can have serious consequences in terms of player safety and the integrity of the game.

Furthermore, this incident also brings attention to the issue of sponsorship and branding in cricket. Players are often sponsored by equipment manufacturers, and there is a constant battle between different brands to be associated with high-profile players. However, this should not come at the expense of player safety and the overall rules and regulations of the sport.
