In recent news, PML-N’s Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz, is currently facing severe online criticism for her assigned election symbol. The Election Commission of Pakistan has allocated election symbols to candidates participating in the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.
Maryam Nawaz, an independent candidate
Despite being a senior member of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz is running as an independent candidate. Due to PML-N’s decision not to nominate any of its members, they were assigned random election symbols.
As a result, Maryam Nawaz was assigned the symbol of “Tandoor” from PP-173, which instantly went viral on social media causing a stir. Netizens and a few influential personalities were quick to mock Maryam Nawaz as she has often been in the limelight mostly for the wrong reasons.
