The Punjab Police had formally requested the Quetta police to release Niazi, who was wanted for his role in the May 9 attack on Jinnah House. Subsequently, his arrest transpired late on Sunday, August 13, in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Hassan Niazi, a qualified lawyer, had managed to evade arrest for several days before being apprehended at a friend’s residence. The case surrounding his detention has garnered significant attention due to his familial connection to the former prime minister and his affiliation with PTI.
