In a surprising turn of events, the Islamabad Police apprehended Imaan Mazari, a prominent human rights lawyer, from her residence in Islamabad during the early hours of Sunday morning. The Tarnol Police Station confirmed her arrest, citing charges of meddling in state affairs, participating in Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) protest, and demonstrating resistance.

The incident drew attention as Shireen Mazari, Imaan’s mother and a former leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), addressed reporters at the Islamabad district court. She revealed that individuals in plain attire had confined their guard before forcibly entering their home.

Shireen Mazari further disclosed that her room had been searched and her phone confiscated, expressing dismay at the presence of around 20 individuals during the intrusion, including six female police officers.
