As per the latest reports, earlier today, Pakistan conducted a series of targeted military strikes on terrorist hideouts within the Siestan-o-Baluchistan province of Iran. This action comes in response to an earlier violation of Pakistan’s airspace by Tehran, followed by strikes in the Balochistan region.
Statement from the Foreign Ministry
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement released on Thursday, detailed the operation, codenamed ‘Marg Bar Sarmachar,’ highlighting its precision and specific targeting. The statement explained that the Intelligence-based operation resulted in the elimination of several terrorists.
Pakistan, in diplomatic engagements with Iran over the past years, consistently conveyed its serious concerns about the safe havens and sanctuaries enjoyed by terrorists of Pakistani origin, identifying themselves as Sarmachars, within the ungoverned spaces of Iran. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Pakistan had shared multiple dossiers containing concrete evidence of the presence and activities of these terrorists.
The military strikes signify a decisive response from Pakistan, addressing the longstanding issue of terrorist activities originating from across the border. The operation aims to eliminate threats posed by these militants who have taken advantage of ungoverned spaces in Iran.

The move underscores Pakistan’s commitment to securing its borders and addressing cross-border terrorism, while also highlighting the importance of regional cooperation in combating extremism and ensuring the safety and security of both nations. However, the situation is likely to have broader implications on the dynamics of regional security and diplomatic relations.
