Fact Check: Viral Images Of Eiffel Tower On Fire Are Fake & AI-Generated

News and images of the iconic Eiffel Tower burning have been circulating on social media for the last few days creating panic among the users. With the source still unknown, this particular information was shared on numerous platforms.

Thorough investigation of the matter

Soon after the spectacle, fact-checkers thoroughly examined the material and found the treading news to be fake. The viral CGI video of the Eiffel Tower on fire, circulating on TikTok and X, captured widespread attention with over eight million views.

However, the fabricated clip, crafted by Augmented One, an Armenian 3D visualization studio, originally surfaced on YouTube in July 2023 with a clear disclaimer highlighting its artificial nature.
