In a historic move, Pakistan is set to host a thrilling ODI tri-series with South Africa and New Zealand in February 2025, marking a significant moment in the country’s cricket history. ODI tri-series in Pakistan? Count us in!

This tri-series is a major milestone for Pakistan as it will be a crucial build-up to the highly-anticipated eight-nation ICC Champions Trophy, which will take place in Pakistan for the first time since the 1996 World Cup. The tournament is expected to be an exciting event with the top eight ODI teams competing on Pakistani soil.

PCB Chairman’s official tweet:

The newly-elected Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi, expressed his excitement about the upcoming tri-series. He stated that it has been a long time since Pakistan has hosted such a significant international tournament. The series will showcase Pakistan’s ability to provide world-class cricket facilities and security. It will also help boost the country’s morale and standing in the cricket world.

It is worth noting that this event marks a significant milestone for Pakistan as international cricket only fully returned to the country in 2020. Following the attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in 2009, Pakistan was stripped of its right to co-host the World Cup, and security concerns lingered in the aftermath of those attacks.
