In a recent television appearance, ousted batsman Umar Akmal expressed unwavering faith in the Sharif family, stating that after Allah, he trusts in them. Hailing from Lahore, Akmal made a fervent plea to the Sharif family for support in his bid for a comeback to the Pakistan Cricket Team.
Speaking on a local news channel, he stated, “The PCB wasn’t listening to my concerns.” Further, Akmal placed his faith in the Sharif family, known for their political influence and past ties to the cricket administration and added, “After Allah, I have faith in Sharif family.”

Umar Akmal, who has been sidelined since 2019 for disciplinary issues, claims the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has ignored his attempts to address his concerns. He went on to acknowledge his meeting with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz, expressing gratitude for the time granted.
