Twelve IDF soldiers sustained injuries after accidentally disturbing a wasp nest in the southern Gaza Strip. The incident took place during an ongoing operation by the Gaza Division’s Southern Brigade in the border region near the Israeli community of Nirim.
The tank’s disturbance of the wasp nest provoked an unexpected attack, leaving several soldiers stung and in need of medical attention.
Ten soldiers were admitted to Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv for treatment, with one requiring intensive care. However, none of the soldiers’ conditions have worsened, and their lives are not at risk.
Medical personnel at the hospital described the injuries as resulting from hundreds of wasp stings, some causing allergic reactions. This mass incident presented an unusual challenge for the medical team, requiring a broad approach involving various specialists.

According to the IDF, one soldier is in moderate condition, while the remaining eleven sustained minor injuries. All twelve soldiers were promptly evacuated to a hospital in Israel for immediate treatment and observation.
