Man Stages Fake Kidnapping & Murder To Escape Debt, Caught Alive From Rawalpindi

In a bizarre turn of events, a man from Nawabshah staged his own kidnapping and murder on social media in a desperate attempt to escape a crippling debt of Rs.8.5 million.

Fake Kidnap Scam Busted!

24-year-old Ghulam Rasool, son of a court official, orchestrated the elaborate scam by sending messages to his family and friends on Facebook Messenger, pretending to be his kidnapper. He even went as far as posting pictures of himself with fake injuries and a staged execution scene.

The charade unraveled after authorities traced the IP address linked to the social media messages, leading them to Rasool’s location in Rawalpindi. Police suspect Rasool devised the scheme after his used clothing business suffered losses and he was unable to repay his creditors.

In a video statement, Rasool confessed to fleeing his home due to fear of his creditors, claiming he was never abducted. He detailed his initial success in the used clothing business, followed by financial difficulties that led him to borrow money for further investment.

When his business took a downturn, the burden of debt became overwhelming. Rasool expressed regret for distressing his family and friends. He currently faces legal repercussions for his actions.
