Source: bernama

In a ground-breaking achievement, China has successfully conducted the first-ever drone delivery tests on Mount Everest. This paves the way for a more efficient and safer future for high-altitude mountaineering, rescue missions, and environmental efforts on the world’s tallest peak.

The tests involved a DJI FlyCart 30 drone, which transported essential supplies like oxygen bottles from Everest Base Camp to Camp 1, located at a staggering altitude. Notably, the drone also brought back trash from Camp 1, demonstrating its potential for cleaning up the mountain.

The drone’s capabilities are impressive. It managed to carry a 15kg payload within a mere 12 minutes, even flying as high as 6,191.8 meters. This successful trial paves the way for a revolution in logistics on Everest, potentially making deliveries and waste removal swifter and safer for those tackling the challenging climb.
