Ex-Olympian Zahid Sharif Offers To Sell Kidney To Pay Electricity Bill, Other Expenses

In a startling revelation highlighting Pakistan’s soaring electricity costs, former hockey player and Olympian Zahid Sharif has expressed his willingness to sell his kidney to cover his expenses. This announcement follows the desperate plea of a disabled citizen, Yaseen, who offered to sell his organs to pay his bills.

Sharif made an emotional appeal to the President, Prime Minister, Army Chief, and Chief Minister of Punjab, seeking urgent financial assistance. Struggling to pay his electricity bill, he urged the government to support retired cricketers and hockey players, many of whom face severe financial difficulties.

“I am willing to sell my medals and a kidney to make ends meet”, Sharif stated, emphasizing the gravity of his situation. His plea sheds light on the financial struggles faced by retired athletes in Pakistan, underlining the urgent need for better support systems for sports professionals after their careers end.
