Fire Erupts in Multi-storey Building on Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi

A fire broke out in the Kashif Center building on Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal, causing significant damage to several offices. The blaze, which started due to a short circuit in the wiring, rapidly spread from the second floor to the upper floors.

The fire began in the wiring duct, and the building lacked an emergency exit, complicating evacuation efforts. Multiple people trapped inside are being rescued, with eight fire tenders and a snorkel actively engaged in extinguishing the flames.

Initial reports indicate that the fire’s origin was a short circuit, highlighting the need for better safety measures in high-rise buildings. This incident follows another fire earlier this month on the fourth floor of the Exchange Building in Karachi.

Authorities are urging people to avoid the area as rescue operations continue. The incident underscores the importance of stringent fire safety protocols in commercial buildings to prevent such occurrences.
