Source: Google

Saudi Arabia has unveiled plans to construct a cable car system to the Cave of Hira, located on Jabal Al Noor in Mecca, with completion targeted for 2025. This project aims to improve the pilgrimage experience by making it easier for visitors to access this important religious site, where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received his first revelation.

The cable car will travel to the cave, which is perched 634 meters above sea level and lies 4 kilometers from the Grand Mosque. This development is part of a broader initiative that includes the creation of the Hira Cultural District and the opening of three new museums in Jabal Omar, also set for 2025.

Additionally, the Mount Thor Cultural District, a new neighborhood offering various services, will be launched the same year. These projects are part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to preserve and enhance Mecca’s rich Islamic heritage. Jabal Al Noor, known for its distinctive camel hump shape and steep terrain, holds deep significance for Muslims around the world.
