Source: The Media Line

On August 18, the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs exposed the severe mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners at Ofer Prison in the occupied West Bank. According to a joint statement from the commission and the Palestinian Prisoner Society, over 10,100 Palestinians have been detained by the Israeli army in the West Bank since October 7.

The report details that prisoners at Ofer Prison receive only 45 minutes of water each day. The overall conditions are described as dire, with power outages occurring from 10 PM to noon the following day. The food provided is insufficient in both quantity and quality, leading to significant weight loss among detainees due to inadequate nourishment.

Prisoners face harsh conditions, including the lack of water storage, which forces them to ration their limited water supply for drinking and personal hygiene. The report underscores the deteriorating situation for Palestinian detainees and calls attention to the need for improved treatment and conditions.
