In a charged rally in Islamabad, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) gave authorities a two-week ultimatum for the release of its incarcerated leader, Imran Khan. The rally, held on Sunday in the Sangjani locality, saw a large turnout despite roadblocks and heightened security across the capital.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur led the rally, declaring that if Khan is not freed within the given timeframe, they would “take action themselves” to secure his release. Gandapur vowed to lead the movement, even willing to take the “first bullet” if necessary.
Participants at the rally gathered under tight security while caravans from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa made their way into the city. The Islamabad district administration had issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the event after multiple postponements.

Despite the rally’s peaceful start, tensions escalated when the authorities issued warnings for the crowd to disperse, leading to clashes with the police. PTI leaders warned of expanding their movement to Punjab if their demands are not met.
