After a decade-long absence, the viral sensation Flappy Bird is making a comeback to iOS and Android in 2025. The game, which first launched in 2013 and was famously removed from app stores by creator Dong Nguyen due to concerns over its addictive nature, will return with exciting new updates, including additional characters and game modes.
The revival is spearheaded by the Flappy Bird Foundation, a fan group that acquired the game’s trademark rights. The 2025 version will introduce fresh characters like a three-eyed bird named Trixy, a penguin called Peng, and even a robot bird named Tekno. Players can expect multiple game modes, including a basketball shooting game, competitive modes, and practice options.

“We are beyond excited to be bringing back Flappy Bird with a fresh experience,” said Michael Roberts, the creative head behind the relaunch.
