Source: Hum News English

Pakistan has strongly condemned the Acting Consul General of Afghanistan, Mohibullah Shakir, for showing disrespect towards the host country’s national anthem at a recent event in Peshawar. The incident, seen as a breach of diplomatic norms, occurred during the Rahmat-ul-lil-Aalameen Conference, which Afghan Consulate officials attended on the invitation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

While Pakistan’s national anthem played, Consul General Shakir remained seated, a move considered a blatant disregard for diplomatic protocol. In response to media inquiries, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated that Pakistan is formally protesting the incident to Afghan authorities in both Islamabad and Kabul.
