A graduate of Karachi University’s Class of 1988, Sami now leads one of the world’s largest fast-food chains, KFC, after a career spanning over three decades in consumer goods and hospitality. His diverse experience includes key roles with Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, Reckitt Benckiser, and Yum! Brands.

Sami’s journey with KFC began in 2009, where he quickly advanced through leadership roles, eventually becoming the COO and Managing Director of KFC Asia. In 2022, he succeeded Tony Lowings as the global CEO. Sami expressed pride in leading KFC, stating, “As Global CEO, I am dedicated to KFC’s growth strategy and creating memorable experiences in every market we serve around the world.”

However, Sami’s new role has sparked controversy online, with some questioning the timing amid growing global boycotts. Amid international tension and consumer backlash over recent events in the Middle East, critics wonder whether his acceptance of the role aligns with public sentiment as boycotts of brands tied to KFC continue to gain momentum worldwide.
