In an unexpected turn of events, recently, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) canceled his trip to Islamabad. It was a scheduled one-day friendly visit which is now said to take place at a later date.
UAE President cancels Islamabad visit
As per the official details, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was scheduled to visit Islamabad today but it was suddenly canceled due to “bad weather conditions”. The meeting was scheduled to discuss the friendship and cooperation between UAE and Pakistan.

“Due to weather conditions, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan scheduled for today has been postponed to a later date”, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.

PM Shehbaz Sharif’s response to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Further, it stated that after canceling the visit, the Emirati contacted PM Shehbaz Sharif and stressed on the instant decision. Responding to UAE President, Sharif said, “the guest’s safety and protection were dearer to him and a risk could not be taken in extreme weather conditions”.
Toward the end of the call, President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan assured PM Shehbaz Sharif that he would visit the federal capital on a two-day visit in the coming months.
It must be noted that the UAE President arrived in Pakistan, Rahim Yar Khan on 25th January on his private plane. Hopefully, he’ll visit Pakistan again soon.
