Following the passing of Sheikh Saleh Al Shaiba, a new guardian has been entrusted with the prestigious role of Chief Key Holder of the Holy Kaaba. Abdul Wahab bin Zain Al Abidin Al Shaibi was officially appointed on June 24th, upholding a long-standing tradition of the position being passed down within his family.
Previously, Sheikh Saleh Al Shaiba served as the 109th successor to companion Uthman ibn Talha, who was responsible for safeguarding the Kaaba. Abdul Wahab expressed his sincere dedication to fulfilling his sacred duties under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
In his new role, Abdul Wahab will oversee various responsibilities, including the opening and closing of the Kaaba, its cleaning and maintenance, and welcoming visitors.

Notably, his first official task will be overseeing the traditional ceremony of presenting the Kiswah, the cloth covering the Kaaba, on the first day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar.
