Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has become India’s wealthiest athlete, overtaking Virat Kohli after inheriting a $175 million fortune. The news was announced on Dussehra, October 12, 2024, when Maharaja Shatrusalyasinhji Digvijaysinhji Jadeja, the current Jam Saheb of Nawanagar, named Ajay as his heir.
Jadeja’s net worth now stands at an impressive $175 million, surpassing Kohli’s estimated $120 million. At 53, Ajay Jadeja comes from the royal Jamnagar family in Gujarat and is now officially the successor to the royal throne.
Maharaja Shatrusalyasinhji expressed his happiness in a letter, calling Ajay’s acceptance of the title a great benefit for the people of Jamnagar. Ajay Jadeja’s ties to royalty run deep, as he is a descendant of cricket icons K.S. Ranjitsinhji and K.S. Duleepsinhji. His father, Daulatsinghji Jadeja, was also a prominent figure, serving as a Member of Parliament.
