London’s tea scene is about to get a delightful jolt of Pakistani flavors thanks to Cafe Chaiwala, a new venture by entrepreneur Arshad Khan aka Chaiwala. However, the launch comes with a side of unexpected drama.
Following the signing of a franchise agreement with British-Pakistani cousins Nadir Khan Durrani and Yawer Akbar Durrani, a recent article cast a shadow over the venture, hinting at financial woes. But Chaiwala isn’t brewing negativity. Dismissing the rumors as a deliberate attempt to sabotage the brand, he’s all set to share the authentic taste of Pakistani chai with Londoners.
“These rumors are simply not true. Nadir and Yawer are more like brothers to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for their dedication to bringing the real Pakistani chai experience to the UK”, asserted Arshad Khan in a recent interview.

Cafe Chaiwala promises a taste of home for the British-Pakistani community and a unique experience for tea enthusiasts in London. The menu boasts “real” tea – a dig at the often milk-heavy British versions – alongside the iconic lacha paratha, a flaky flatbread perfect for dipping.
This isn’t Chaiwala’s first foray into the world of chai. His existing cafes in Birmingham and Manchester have garnered a loyal following, so Londoners can expect a tastebud-tantalizing experience.
