Pakistan’s star batsman, Babar Azam has had a phenomenal 2024 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), concluding as the leading run-scorer. Representing Rangpur Riders, the 29-year-old played his final match in the competition, contributing a score of 47 from 43 balls, helping his team reach a total of 175/4 against Durdanto Dhaka.
Babar’s batting skills… a poetry in motion
Throughout six innings, Babar amassed a total of 251 runs at an impressive average of 50.20. Notably, he recorded two half-centuries, maintaining a strike rate of 114.61. This outstanding performance has yet again cemented his position as one of the world’s best batsmen.
Aside from Babar, other Pakistan players also played well in the BPL. Notably, Tamim Iqbal, who scored a total of 229 runs, and Mohammad Hafeez, who hit 201 runs. This is a great sign for Pakistan cricket as they prepare for the upcoming T20I World Cup happening in the USA and West Indies.
Babar and the other Pakistan players have now returned from Bangladesh after being issued NoC’s. They are now gearing up for PSL 9, which is set to begin on February 17th. The PSL is one of the most popular T20 leagues in the world and attracts some of the biggest names in cricket.
