Central Contract Salaries Of Pakistani Cricketers Revealed: Who Earns What?

The remuneration details of Pakistan’s national cricket players, as per their central contracts, have been revealed following the team’s dismal performance and premature exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

According to local media reports, changes in player contracts are expected, with some athletes facing demotion or even the loss of their contracts due to their poor performances, although no official confirmation has been made yet.

Top performers Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Muhammad Rizwan are currently categorized in Category A, earning a substantial salary of 4.5 million PKR per month each. Category B includes Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf, who receive a monthly remuneration of 3 million PKR.

In Category C, Imad Wasim and Abdullah Shafique earn between 750,000 to 1.5 million PKR per month each. Lastly, players like Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, Saim Ayub, and others fall under Category D, with similar earnings ranging from 750,000 to 1.5 million PKR per month.

The potential reshuffling of contracts comes as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) seeks to address the underlying issues leading to the team’s consistent underperformance. The possibility of demotions and contract terminations shows PCB’s intent to enforce accountability and encourage better performance from the players.
