Source: The Business Standard

Balochistan was gripped by a deadly wave of violence on Monday, as a series of coordinated attacks across the province claimed the lives of at least 40 people. Among the victims were 23 passengers in Musakhail, where attackers targeted civilians after identity checks, according to officials.

The violence erupted late Sunday night, with terrorists launching assaults on Levies and police stations in Mastung, Kalat, Pasni, and Suntsar, leading to numerous casualties.

Explosions and grenade attacks were also reported in Sibi, Panjgur, Mastung, Turbat, Bela, and Quetta. In a particularly destructive act, terrorists blew up a railway track near Mastung, further intensifying the chaos.

In Kalat, 11 people, including four Levies personnel, were killed during the attacks. As the day unfolded, six additional bodies were found in Bolan, deepening the toll of the violence.

In response to the attacks, security forces conducted clearance operations, during which they neutralized 21 terrorists and injured several others. However, the operations came at a significant cost, with 14 security personnel, including members of law enforcement, martyred in the process.

It remains unclear if the toll among security forces includes the four Levies personnel who were killed in Kalat.
