A month after the opposition tabled a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Punjab, a special session was held yesterday for the final counting of votes.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi reinstated as CM Punjab
According to media reports, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi managed to get a total of 186 votes which, by law reinstated him as the CM of Punjab. After the counting of votes ended, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) which initially submitted the no-confidence motion boycotted the session and walked out.
The session was chaired by Speaker Sibtain Khan at Punjab Assembly on Wednesday night.
