Chinese Vice Premier To Reach Pakistan Tomorrow, Islamabad To Get Two More Holidays

The Foreign Office has announced that He Lifeng, Vice Premier of China and Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, will be visiting Pakistan from July 30 to August 1, 2023.

10 years of CPEC

During this visit, Vice Premier He, who is also a Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping, will participate in the 10th-anniversary celebrations of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The visit holds significant importance as it marks a decade of successful collaboration between China and Pakistan through the CPEC, a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative. He Lifeng, who has been instrumental in China’s international economic relations, will meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Arif Alvi during his stay in Pakistan.

The event celebrating the milestone of CPEC will have Vice Premier He as its chief guest, further emphasizing the strong economic ties and strategic partnership between the two nations. In light of the high-level foreign delegation’s visit, Islamabad will observe two days of holidays on July 31 and August 1.
