Since Najam Sethi took over as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, he has consistently tried to get the former head coach of the national team onboard. But it seems like getting him back won’t be easy as he has rejected the proposal several times.
Najam Sethi wants Mickey Arthur to coach PCT
According to the official media reports, Najam Sethi believes that only Mickey Arthur is the perfect candidate for the job and is not even considering anyone else. However, Arthur seems adamant about his decision as he is fully committed to coaching Derbyshire.
It is believed that the duo will soon arrive at a mutual decision and cricket fans might again see Mickey Arthur heading the Pakistan cricket team in the coming months. Further, it was also revealed that hopefully, Arthur will lead the national team in the upcoming ODI World Cup taking place in India later the year.

“If Arthur comes in, he can make his own team”
“Mickey Arthur’s chapter is not closed as of yet. I am in contact with him personally. His return is still on cards”, said Najam Sethi while addressing a press conference earlier this week.
Looking back on Mickey Arthur’s tenure as Pakistan’s head coach from 2016 to 2019, it won’t be wrong to say that he has definitely been among the most successful ones to date. Pakistan also won the Champions Trophy 2017 under his leadership.
