Sri Lankan cricket analyst Daniel Alexander has reignited debate about the historic rivalry between India and Pakistan by sharing an analysis of their head-to-head cricket records. According to Alexander, Pakistan holds an edge over India in total victories across formats, including ODIs, Tests, and international matches played in Pakistan.
Alexander posted his analysis on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the statistics:
- Overall International Matches: Pakistan leads 88-75.
- ODIs: Pakistan leads 73-57.
- Tests: Pakistan leads 12-9.
- Matches in Pakistan:Pakistan dominates 21-13 in internationals, 14-11 in ODIs, and 7-2 in Tests.
- Matches in India:India leads narrowly in internationals (25-21) and ODIs (19-12).
Alexander speculated that India’s hesitance to play in Pakistan could be tied to concerns about further tilting the win-loss record in Pakistan’s favor.
The post sparked widespread discussions among cricket fans, with some questioning the reasoning while others reflected on the storied rivalry.
