Cyclone Asna Moves Away from Karachi, Heavy Rains Still Expected

Source: Dawn

Cyclone Asna, which formed from a deep depression in the northeast Arabian Sea, has moved further away from Karachi, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

As of 7am today, the cyclone was located approximately 200 kilometers southwest of Karachi, 220 kilometers south-southeast of Ormara, and 380 kilometers southeast of Gwadar.

Despite the cyclone steering away from Pakistan’s coastline, the PMD has warned residents to prepare for heavy rainfall. The weather system, which intensified into Cyclone Asna on Friday, is still expected to bring widespread rainfall across the region.
