Traveling from Delhi to San Francisco or Tokyo to Delhi in under an hour might soon become a reality. Elon Musk’s SpaceX is working on an ambitious Earth-to-Earth Starship project that aims to make ultra-fast global travel possible. The concept recently gained attention after Musk responded to a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “This is now possible.”
The Starship spacecraft, combined with the Super Heavy rocket, forms a reusable system designed to transport both crew and cargo. According to SpaceX, the Starship could carry up to 100 passengers on long-distance trips, including interplanetary missions. On Earth, the system could enable rapid point-to-point travel, with estimated travel times like 40 minutes from Delhi to San Francisco and 24 minutes from Los Angeles to Toronto.
The project could receive Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval in the future, potentially under U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s second administration, according to speculation.
