In shocking news, a fire erupted at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in the early hours of Thursday, forcing the evacuation of passengers and temporarily halting departures. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
As per the sources, the blaze started near the immigration counter, causing smoke to fill the departure lounge. Firefighters quickly arrived and contained the fire, but the immigration system sustained some damage. This led to a delay in processing departing passengers, including those on Hajj flights.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, this incident echoes a similar one at Multan International Airport in 2022, which was also blamed on an electrical issue.
