Source: Rolling Stone

Former President Donald Trump has made headlines once again, this time with a social media post stating that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday as a New York prosecutor examines hush money payments made to women including adult film star Stormy Daniels who alleged sexual encounters with Trump.

Hurdles in Trump’s electoral campaigns

Apparently, this case has been a topic of interest for some time and is expected to result in criminal charges being filed against Trump in the near future.

Sharing his opinion, Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, “Illegal leaks from a corrupt & highly political Manhattan district attorney’s office … indicate that, with no crime being able to be proven … the far & away leading Republican candidate & former president of the United States of America, will be arrested on Tuesday of next week”.

While Trump’s claims of impending arrest have not been substantiated, the case against him has been progressing. It is alleged that Trump paid hush money to several women to keep them from speaking publicly about their sexual encounters with him, which could constitute a violation of campaign finance laws.

Another legal challenge for the former US President?

If charges are indeed filed against Trump, it would mark yet another legal challenge for the former president. He is currently facing a number of lawsuits and investigations related to his business dealings, tax records, and the January 6th Capitol riot.
