The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the federal cabinet has approved a Rs 1.8 billion grant to overhaul the engines of two VVIP aircraft used by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for state duties.
The ECC meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, reviewed various proposals. The grant aims to ensure the reliable operation of the aircraft serving Pakistan’s top leaders.
The committee also discussed a proposal from the Ministry of National Food Security & Research to allocate wheat stocks for Food Year 2024-25. The ECC decided that both domestic and imported wheat would be distributed based on a previous allocation ratio set on February 1, 2024. The wheat will be tested for quality before distribution to ensure it is fit for consumption.

Additionally, the ECC approved a Rs. 252.711 million grant for the Ministry of Interior. This funding, provided by the Ministry of Housing and Works, will support essential civic services at the Prime Minister’s Office and staff accommodations.
