Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur behind SpaceX and Tesla, is reportedly building a town in Texas for his employees to work and live in. The town is being built just 35 miles outside of Austin, on thousands of acres of land that Musk has already purchased.
Elon Musk’s vision for the future
The project is being referred to as the “Mars Colony” and is expected to be a self-sustaining community with a focus on renewable energy and sustainable living. Musk’s goal is to create a community where his employees can live, work, and play all in one place, without having to commute long distances.
Further, as per reports, employees will be offered these new properties well below market value. This isn’t the first time Musk has pursued ambitious projects aimed at advancing sustainable living. He has previously talked about colonizing Mars and creating a global network of underground tunnels for high-speed transportation.
