Cristiano Ronaldo’s respect for Islamic practices has fueled speculation about a potential conversion to Islam, according to his former Al-Nassr teammate, Waleed Abdullah. In an interview with Morocco World News, Abdullah shared how the Portuguese football superstar has developed a keen interest in Islamic culture since moving to Saudi Arabia.
Abdullah revealed that Ronaldo has learned about Islamic prayers and their meanings and encourages his Muslim teammates to perform their religious duties. “Ronaldo genuinely wants to convert to Islam,” Abdullah claimed, citing moments when Ronaldo paused training sessions during the call to prayer (Azaan) and even prostrated on the field after scoring goals.
Abdullah praised Ronaldo’s humility and respect for Islamic customs, saying, “He has actively sought to understand our culture and shows great kindness toward his Muslim teammates.” Ronaldo has reportedly requested his coach to pause practice sessions during Azaan and has been vocal about supporting his teammates’ religious practices.
