In shocking news, a father gunned down his son in Peshawar after the pair disagreed about which political party’s flag to display in the lead-up to Pakistan’s upcoming general election.
According to the deceased brother’s statement, an argument between his father and brother started with the hanging of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party flag on the house roof. The argument then escalated and his father shot the other brother in a fit of rage.
The other brother’s statement
While speaking to an international breaking news channel, Arif, the deceased’s brother said, “My younger brother Atta-ur-Rehman brought the flag home and put it on the roof, but our father didn’t like it”. He further added that his father urged his brother to vote for whoever he wants but raising this flag is not right.
As per the on-spot district police officer Naseer Farid, “The argument escalated and in a fit of anger, the father fired a pistol at his 31-year-old son before fleeing the house”. Unfortunately, the son died on the way to the hospital.

Police are searching for the father, who was affiliated with the nationalist Awami National Party (ANP) and had previously displayed their flag. SP President Division Abdul Salam Khalid says that raids are being conducted in search of the accused
