Ferry Service Between Karachi and Chabahar Likely to Begin Soon

The Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, held a meeting with Iran’s Consul General, Hassan Norian, and Vice Consul General, Ali Khoshrou, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing trade opportunities between Pakistan and Iran.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Shah emphasized the deep cultural and historical connections between the two countries, pointing out that Sindh could export products like meat, Sindhri mangoes, and Larkana guavas to Iran.

Consul General Norian expressed the goal of increasing the current $2 billion trade volume to $3 billion in the near future, highlighting Iran’s commitment to expanding economic cooperation with Pakistan.

One of the key topics discussed was the potential launch of a ferry service between Karachi and Chabahar, Iran. Chief Minister Shah noted that this service would ease travel for pilgrims and students between the two nations.

In addition to trade discussions, the Iranian Consul General invited Chief Minister Shah to attend a cultural festival in Iran this November, further promoting cultural exchange.
