Former PTI Member Sher Afzal Marwat Receives Invitation to Join PPP

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) member Makhdoom Jameeluz Zaman has extended an invitation to Sher Afzal Marwat, recently expelled from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to join the PPP. The offer comes as part of PPP’s efforts to strengthen their ranks under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

In a statement, Zaman expressed the PPP’s commitment to making Pakistan a modern country and invited Marwat to collaborate to serve the nation. The PPP MNA’s spokesperson confirmed that Zaman will soon meet Marwat in Islamabad to discuss the potential alliance.

Earlier, PTI announced Marwat’s membership suspension, citing violations of party rules and discipline. The notification, endorsed by PTI Additional Secretary General Firdous Shamim Naqvi, was labeled “fake” by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan, who insisted the expulsion was not possible.

The internal conflict within PTI highlights differing opinions on Marwat’s standing, with some leaders recommending his termination due to his recent statements and actions, which allegedly harmed the party’s image. Despite these challenges, Marwat remains a significant political figure as PPP extends a welcoming hand.
