Fraud Case Against Veteran Actor Javed Sheikh, Others Dropped Due To Jurisdiction Issues

Source: Khaleej Times

In recent news, Rawalpindi police have dropped a fraud case against veteran actor Javed Sheikh and five others, citing jurisdictional reasons. The case stemmed from allegations of a Rs.5 million investment scam.

According to Rawat Station House Officer (SHO) Chaudhry Zulfikar, the case was registered based on court orders. However, investigations revealed that the financial transaction in question occurred in Karachi. Since the alleged crime did not take place within their jurisdiction, the Rawat Police have prepared a discharge report, effectively dismissing the case.

The case, filed on June 6th, accused Sheikh and his co-defendants of deceiving a couple, Amjad Mahmood and Iram Amjad, into investing in a project promising a 7% monthly return. Sheikh was reportedly a brand ambassador for the company involved. The couple claimed they never received the promised returns and faced threats when they sought their money back.
