In a uniquely whimsical yet macabre twist, a funeral home in El Salvador has taken an unconventional step by introducing Barbie-themed coffins.
‘Death in plastic, it’s fantastic’
Capitalizing on the fervor surrounding the iconic doll, the Alpha and Omega Funeral Home in Ahuachapán, near the Guatemalan border, is now offering pink metal coffins adorned with images of Barbie. This quirky concept allows individuals to carry their love for Barbie beyond the mortal realm.
Isaac Villegas, the owner of the funeral home, had previously provided pink coffins as an option even before the release of the Barbie movie in July. However, the widespread Barbie frenzy that swept through Latin America prompted him to elevate the idea.
