Two long-lost siblings finally reuniting after years of being raised by different parents…. sounds like some 80s Bollywood movie, right? Well, to everyone’s surprise, a similar incident took place in Georgia and netizens can’t stop admiring the beautiful story.
Not a miracle, just destiny
As per the circulating reports, Two twin sisters — Amy Khvitia and Ano Sartania born in Georgia were adopted by different parents soon after their birth took place back in 2002. When Khvitia was 12 years old, she spotted a contestant who looked exactly like her on the TV show “Georgia’s Got Talent” but had no way to find out who she was.
In 2021, Khvitia posted a video of herself in a parlor on TikTok which caught the attention of her estranged sister Sartania, 320 kilometers away in Tbilisi. Noting the striking similarities, a friend then helped Sartania track her sister through a university WhatsApp group.
Upon their initial contact, Khvitia immediately recognized Sartania as the girl she had seen on the TV show. As they spent the next few days together, they discovered even more commonalities, feeling like mirror images of each other.

Driven by a desire to uncover their roots, the twins used the Georgian Facebook group Vedzeb, meaning “I’m searching” to locate their birth mother. This then led them to a sister who had grown up with their mother. Shockingly, it turned out that the real mother was ill-informed that the twin daughters had died at birth.
In 2022, the Georgian government investigated historic child trafficking claims, interviewing over 40 individuals. Unfortunately, the government cited the loss of historical data, hindering a comprehensive understanding of the illegal adoptions. Earlier attempts in 2003 to investigate international child trafficking resulted in some arrests, but details remain scant.
