In a bid to alleviate the burden of skyrocketing inflation on the general public, the federal government has made the decision to extend the Prime Minister’s relief package at utility stores.
The relief package, valued at Rs30 billion, will provide subsidies to the masses for essential items such as sugar, ghee, flour, pulses, and rice purchased from utility stores across Pakistan.
Extending PM’s relief package
The previous relief package had expired on June 30, coinciding with the end of the financial year 2022-23. However, recognizing the ongoing need for assistance, the government has announced the continuation of the relief package, which will remain in effect until the end of the financial year 2023-24.
