The Islamic world is gearing up to welcome the holy month of Ramadan and the anticipation is running high as the crescent moon sighting draws near. According to a well-reputed UAE-based news agency, Islamic nations began the month of Shaaban on February 11, 2024 and are now preparing to observe the crescent moon for Ramadan on March 10.
However, the likelihood of sighting the crescent on March 10 appears slim, according to scientific criteria for crescent visibility. Renowned scholars and astronomical observatories agree that the crescent won’t be visible that day across the Arab and Islamic world, either with the naked eye or through a telescope.

Nevertheless, using a telescope might make the crescent visible from specific parts of America, especially in the western regions. As a result, it is anticipated that many countries will mark the beginning of Ramadan on March 11, while others who require accurate crescent sighting will commence on March 12.
