In recent development, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants on November 21 for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas’s military chief Mohammed Deif.
The charges include crimes against humanity and war crimes allegedly committed between October 8, 2023, and May 20, 2024.
The Hague-based tribunal revealed that the warrants, initially classified as “secret” to protect witnesses and preserve the integrity of investigations, have now been partially disclosed due to ongoing concerns over similar conduct. This decision aims to inform victims and their families about the warrants’ existence.
The foreign ministries of the Netherlands and France also announced that Netanyahu could face arrest if he enters either country. These developments mark a significant escalation in international scrutiny over actions in Gaza.
