Pakistan’s cricket team recently suffered a setback as all-rounder Imad Wasim has been ruled out of their opening T20 World Cup 2024 match against the United States, which is scheduled for today.
Captain Babar Azam confirmed the news while speaking to the media in Dallas. He revealed that Wasim is still recovering from a side strain, and the medical team has advised caution to ensure his availability for the remaining tournament matches.
This is the same injury that kept Imad Wasim out of Pakistan’s last T20 match against England. Despite this setback, Captain Azam expressed confidence in the team’s preparations. He highlighted that the players have a clear strategy and have been practicing effectively using the available facilities.
He also mentioned that players like Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf, along with Wasim, have prior experience playing in the United States. Pakistan will be looking to overcome this initial hurdle and start their World Cup campaign on a winning note against the United States.
