In recent news, Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah has sentenced PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, to seven years of imprisonment each. The verdict also declared their nikah, reportedly conducted during Bibi’s iddat after her divorce from former husband Khawar Maneka, as against Islamic law. Both accused have been fined Rs.500,000 each as part of the judgment.

The decision was announced within the confines of Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan is already serving a sentence in the Toshakhana and cipher cases. The judge, after presiding over the case involving an alleged illegal nikah during iddat, delivered the verdict after a period of reserved considerations.
